Commonly we read about big-name sports stars who receive non-surgical PRP treatments. Sometimes an athlete who is above the average age of those he plays and competes with suffers an injury, and surgery might mean an end to their career. Such a story was published by the Connecticut Post about a baseball player with an elbow injury who was sent down to the minor leagues to mend.

Outfielder Joe Mather thought that he might have played the final game of his career. He suffered a tear in the ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow.
